Benavides

Brandon Benavides is the Head Coach for the 2024 15U Rebels and is the Organization's Program Director.  Brandon has been Coaching the Rebels for the past 6 seasons starting with the 2018 9U Rebels team.  Brandon is a family man and has 2 children.  He has a son who also played for the Rebels in 2016 and 2017 and a daughter played 6 seasons for the Rebels. 

Currently residing in Renton, Brandon was also born and raised in Renton, graduated from Lindbergh High School in Renton and is carrying on the Renton Rebels name which was originally established by his Father, Benny Benavides in 1993.  From 1993 to 1999 Brandon was the starting Shortstop for the original Rebels which ended in 1999 when Brandon, and other teammates graduated from High School.  In 1995 Brandon and the 14U Rebels notably won the CABA World Series in Miamisburg, Ohio which earned that '95 team their very own "Renton Rebels Day" by the City of Renton on July 23rd, 1995.

After Graduating from Lindbergh in 1999, Brandon went on to North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho where he was the starting Second Baseman his Freshman year.  Then in his sophomore year he moved across the diamond as the starting Shortstop.  After his Sophomore year at NIC, he transferred to Cal State Eastbay (Hayward, CA) in 2001 where he again became the starting Second Baseman as a Junior and eventually became the starting Shortstop his Senior year in 2003.

Immediately following Brandon's College career, he began his Coaching career at Lindbergh HS alongside his former Rebels Coach and Father, Benny Benavides; who is still to this day, the Varsity Head Coach.  Brandon Coached with Benny for 3 seasons and has since then assisted with Lindbergh's baseball program off and on for the past 12 years.

Brandon takes great pride in his high intensity, coaching philosophies, and especially in his infield and defensive knowledge of the game.  Working with younger athletes to obtain the knowledge Brandon has acquired over his playing and Coaching career is what drives him to continue to preach and teach the game he absolutely loves.  An understanding and love of the game outside and within the lines is Brandon's ultimate goal for the Renton Rebels.  He will continue to strive to be an positive influence on his player's bright futures.
