Lambarena

Joshua Lambarena (Coach Lambo) is the Head Coach for the 2024 18U Rebels.  Coach Lambo has been coaching with the Rebels for the past 6 years.  Coming back to his roots, a graduate of Lindbergh High School, himself and coached/mentored by the Founder of the Rebels Benny Benavides; Coach Lambo brings 20 years of coaching experience to the program.  He is married with 3 kids; his daughter Dreu, and his two sons Riley & Ethan.

Coach Lambo currently resides in the Fairwood Area, staying connected with the community; through Little League and as an active board member of the Kent Knights Football Association.  Through work, he has traveled all over the world, but proud to be a native of the area and to give back to the community.  Shout out to his wife and her team the Valley Girls and Guys (originating from Maple Valley) on their continuous effort in the fight against cancer! And of course, his boys; for working on becoming young leaders in their community.

Lambo’s Coaching Philosophy

An athlete’s growth/development and who they surround themselves with are the most important.  These players are not just learning fundamentally sound Rebel’s baseball, but they are learning skill sets that go beyond the field, such as;

·        how to compete

·        how to be disciplined

·        how to work hard

·        how to lead

·        how to follow

·        how to be accountable

·        how to push others

·        the value of practice, how to sacrifice

·        how to accomplish something bigger than oneself

·        learning to control what they can control

·        how to stand for something

·        that there are no shortcuts

·        how to finish something they start

·        how to be selfless

·        how to work as a team and build trust

·        how to take pride in themselves and what they do

Not everyone will have baseball as their career, but everyone will have these skill sets to bring to their career.
